Senior Portrait Photography | Black and White

A Portrait of New Generation

© 2010 Wazari Wazir | Senior Portrait Photography

It’s been awhile that I shoot any pretty face lately, thanks to my friend Ishak Hamzah for inviting me for this photo shoot, we shoot in the late afternoon and the weather wasn’t very good, it rains and we have to cut our photo shoot less than an hour after its start. Most of the times I join photo shoot like this is because I want to meet some friends, face to face, rather than busy with facebook and all other social media. It’s good to be able to meet your facebook friends in real life, sharing and exchanging ideas, just like a businessman who play golf during weekend, I don’t think most of them ever wanted becoming the next Tiger Wood, most of the times they just wanted to meet friends, discussing new project, new venture, new business or just simply want to hang out and have fun with friends after busy weekday at the office.

This picture can be colorful but I choose to present it here in black and white, she is beautiful, gorgeous, have a fair skin and I really don’t have to do any touch up on her face, just let it be the way it is and in fact I did add a little bit of “grain” on her face in Photoshop to get this type of look, retro or classic looks. We shoot this portrait in the Petaling Street area, locally knows as China Town of Kuala Lumpur or maybe I can say, Malaysia very own China Town.

For those of you who have been following my work knows that I don’t use flash for my portrait photography, same goes here, it’s pure natural light photography. I know that sometimes by using flash we can exposed the face better, can exposed the skin better, can show the clothes better but I just like the way natural light looks and after all it’s natural, it’s free and working with natural light will make you work faster simply because, the light won’t wait for you. Unlike using flash, you can shoot until late wee hour in the morning and always can change the position of the light to suit our needs. I just want to have fun and I like to keep it natural.
