I have nothing much to write here, just wanted to share with you a little bit about composition, which is using repetitive patterns for composition. The photographs above were taken in 2008 during our National Day Celebration here in Kuala Lumpur, I purposely choose a higher angle to get this shot, you will never get this kind of patterns if we shoot from the ground, same eye level with them, the only way os to shoot from above so that you can see the patterns.

Using a longer lens help to make things look close together thus enhance the patterns. They do walk within a comfortable distance by when I use 300mm lens and shooting at wide aperture f2.8, everything seem to look really close together, you will never get this shot using wide angle lens, you need at least 70-200mm lens and shoot at 200mm end to really get the effect. Shoot tight, fills the frame with the patterns and just crop unwanted element in the frame or you can cropped it later in Photoshop but if you can get it tight in the frame, just do it in the camera.
