In my previous article I’ had written props, how sometimes a good set of props or supporting element can make or break any portraiture session. The other thing that can make or break a portrait session is the costume and the choice of location for the photo shoot. The right costumes with the right background usually will produce a great portrait or if I can say, a great environmental portrait where people can relate into it.

This Belly Dancers photo outing was organize by friend of mine Dominic Song at Moroccan Pavilion in Putrajaya on the outskirts Kuala Lumpur, which have this beautiful replica of Moroccan Architecture. When everything was in place, the photo shoot become easier, most people can relate Belly Dancer with Middle East Theme like this location. About the posing, we don’t need to show or tell them how to pose because they are truly a Belly Dancer, they know how to pose, what we can do is just ask them to pose at a certain place and angle and just let them do their sting or strut their stuff freely as they wish. Sometimes everything just falls into place when every details were taken into consideration.
