Sometimes Muslim travellers find it difficult to find a Halal Foods in Kathmandu but no worry, there is quite a few good Muslim or Halal Restaurant here around Thamel Kathmandu.

Among others is Anatolia Restaurant which serves Nepali, Indian, Turkish & Chinese cuisines that can be found in Thamel Chowk area, and my favourite is Al-Madina Halal Foods, which is also located somewhere around Thamel Chowk, in the same row as Annapurna Guest House . So if you have trouble looking for it, just ask people around here or the taxi driver about Annapurna Guets House and once you found Annapurna Guest House, you will definitely find this place.

Al-Madina Halal Foods specialist in Muglai/Kashmiri Wazwan and Indian Dishes. I like their chicken Tandoori and my number one favourite here is Mutton Biryani. In November 2012, we stayed at Annapurna Guest House, so this place is a place for us to have our lunch and dinner.

Personally I think, the foods serves here is very delicious but then you have to try it yourself. My taste might be different than yours but why not give it a try and I would like to remind you that there is no WiFi service here, so if you really have to be connected to the internet, you can’t get away from Facebook, twitter while eating and don’t want to use your Mobile Phone Local Card 3G service, better head to Anatolia Restaurant instead, they have a Free WiFi for you, but in term of foods, I choose Al-Madina.
