Nepal Himalaya | Langtang Valley Trek | Explore, Dream, Discover

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover”.

– Mark Twain –

By now you should already know why we took more than eight to ten hours of trekking time to get from one point over another, when normally all it takes is four to five hours from one post to another. We stop a lot, we took photographs a lot and we are not super fit kind of people. We lives a sedentary lifestyle, trekking, hiking or any demanding physical activities like this one, is not on our day to day routine, not even a yearly ritual, that’s why we took so long.

The other factor that contribute to our “slowness” is that, we took pictures a lot, if possible, we wanted to photograph each step that we took, the view was so magnificent to my naked eyes. Me and Ahmad Shukri leads  the way and we keeps on taking turn  photographs among ourselves. We will never know whether we will ever cross this path again, we will never know whether we will visit this area again, and we don’t want to take a chance, so we try to take a photograph among  ourselves as much as possible.

Other than that, we also wanted to really “smell the roses”, we wanted to be present, to really explore, discover  and enjoy this journey. Everything starts with a dream and once we are here, I wanted to make sure that I’m not dreaming, I want to be present wholeheartedly.

I’ve to say it again and again, no matter how hard I try to photograph this magnificent mountain, to present it as beautiful as possible and no matter how hard I try to describe it in words, it will never ever do justice to it, you really have to come here in person to really appreciate its beauty, to inhale the freshness of the mountain air, to feel the cold of the mountain and to really feel the pains  that comes from a few days of trekking.

Explore, Dream and Discover it for yourself, hopefully, my little story and my pictures will ignite the adventure in you…
