“Life is a Journey, Not a Destination.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson –

The more I travel, the more I realise that, it is really not about the destination that matters the most but the journey itself. That’s why I choose to travel as a backpackers and not through any traveling agency, If I’m lost, let be, I like the hassle and I like the troubles doing my very own stuff and I almost fall off the cliff in the darkness on my way back to Potala Hotel in Thangshyap.

Along the way to my destination, I learn a lot, the people that I met along the way, really makes the journey a memorable, I learn to appreciate my life more and more. I travel not to compare what’s good about my own country or what’s bad about other country and it’s people, I travel to understand how other people lives, to see their culture, to make a connections, we should be happy and always be grateful wherever we are born, we are not asking to be born here (in our very own country) and they too are not asking to be born there, it’s God decision and what we can do is to make friends all over the world.

No matter how many words I wrote and how many pictures I share it here on my blog, I cannot fully expressed it, it has to be experienced by yourself, no amount of pictures or videos that you seen will ever get you close enough to the real experience, sometime you may read a bad review, a warning not to visit certain countries for a security reason, it is dangerous to visit that place, all all other negatives things about certain country, some people may tend to believe it but trust me even in a dangerous place in war torn country like Afghanistan or Iraq, you will also find happiness there and I’ve visit Kashmir, where I don’t see many tourist there, maybe they are afraid.

Talking about Langtang Valley Trek, from Kathmandu you have to get through the most dangerous road in Nepal and has been recognized as one of dangerous road in the world especially road from Dhunce to Syabru Besi. It is truly a hair-rainsing experience for me but I learn to trust my driver Mr Rajesh lama who told us that he have eleven years of experience traveling Kathmandu – Syabru Besi road, the gateway to Langtang National park.

Yes it is one of a hell kind of experience and I said to myself that I will never went through this road again and in fact, I wish I can fly back to Kathmandu by helicopter, because I don’t want to get through this scary road once again but like I’ve said earlier, we have to trust the people, we have to trust our driver, let him do his job uninterrupted. After we reach safely to our destination, I began to appreciate the journey even more and I really miss the journey, back home here in Kuala Lumpur, I hope I will travel this road once again even though before this I said, I’ve had enough but I miss the journey.

A very good description of what travel does to you, with beautiful images to go. I also sometimes think “not again”, but once settled, the travel foot starts to kick.
