“To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as of a precise organization of forms which give that event its proper expression.”

– Henri Cartier-Bresson –

The photograph above will be quite ordinary if my son Raphael just sleeping in the comfort of my wife arm. What makes this picture memorable or special is when my son open up his little mouth “yawn” and I took the picture and freeze it forever. That is a decisive moment, a peak moment in this photograph.

Usually what differentiate  great picture from good picture is the moment, and most people associate the decisive moment when the moment it at its peaks or maybe we can say as at its best. It is not necessarily involve an action but it can also about expression, the right expression or gesture can make ordinary picture become great.

I know that baby yawning a lot, so that I wait and anticipate and when I think that my son was about to open  up his mouth I take few shot and hope for the best and I’m quite happy with this one I’m sharing it here. I like the expression of my son and also the expression of my wife.

This is a memorable picture for me and my family, more than just a pretty picture of our baby, this moment will be remembered forever, my son is less than two weeks old when this picture is taken and I’m happy to be able to record this moment in photograph.
