Run Baby Run | Sungai Besar | Selangor

I’ve to admit that I take a lot of portraits of my son, I mean a close up shot of my son from head to shoulder as you always see and by the time my son get it’s own “feet”, it’s getting harder for me to photographed him close up because he will always run away and never stand or stood still for a minute, that’s one of the reason why lately I like to take a a picture of my son with it’s surrounding, with the environment where he is playing, running and  having fun.

We don’t have paddy fields here in Kuala Lumpur so by taking my son to the paddy fields and expose himself to this kind of environment, hopefully he can learn, explore and discover something. Most of the times during weekend I will take my son to the nearest shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, into the heart of concrete jungle where it is not safe to run like this without getting hit by the car or motorist. This place in Sungai Besar Selangor, just less than two hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, is a great place for my son to run like crazy here. My son can run freely here, he may falls and get few scratch or bruise here and there but that’s a normal things to happen for a child and I’m not worried so much about that. Every scars have a story to tell. I don’t want my son to be “soft” but to be strong.

This is a personal photography blog, even though it is not entirely a family blog, I will always discussed something related to photography and my life here and my son face will still dominance this blog. Sometimes I will talk about the story behind the picture or just use the picture as a way to tell about photography, tips, technique, composition, and exposure for an example.

Some people said that it was hard to take a picture of a child like my son age, they don’t want to pose, they don’t want to sit still. That’s true, just let them go and let them play with their surroundings, explore their environment and just follow them and if we think it is a good photo opportunity, just take a couple of shots and let them play again. I’ve thousands of close up shot of my son so this year I don’t mind so much if if I get few of it. I wanted to focus more on the surrounding. Where my son have been and try to find a trademark or place of interest in each location that we visit.

@Matjoe, merakam gambar anak yang dah dapat kaki ni memang mencabar, tak boleh duduk diam tetapi memang seronok tengok gelagat mereka dan lebih baik lagi kalau dapat kita rakamkan dengan kamera kita.
