    New Istana Negara Kuala Lumpur | National Palace

    This is our new National Palace or “Istana Negara” in Malay. It  is the official residence of His Majesty, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the King of Malaysia. The flag of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was raised for the first time at the new Istana Negara at  10.25am on 15th November 2011, just under an hour after the symbolic closing of the gates of the old Istana. Istana Negara began shifting its operations to the new complex in Jalan Duta in stages since Oct 19 while the assignment of guards from ATM began on 14th November 2011. The new Istana Negara, built with Islamic and traditional Malay features, is located on a 96.52 hectare…
