It is a historical event because the last time people in Johor Bahru witnesses this event is in 1960 during the Coronation of the late Sultan Ismail Sultan Abu Bakar which is 55 years ago. July 29, 1886, saw Johor creating history with the first-ever coronation of a Malay ruler witnessed in Malaya, that of Sultan Abu Bakar. Since then, there have been two more coronation ceremonies for the Johor Sultanate. Sultan Sir Ibrahim was crowned on Nov 2, 1895.
