Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is one of the many attractions  in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens, it is only 10 minutes drive away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. It is the home to more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species of local and foreign birds.

Sprawling approximately 20.9 acres of verdant valley terrain, the park is divided into 4 zones; Zone 1 and 2 make up the free-flight zone; Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where the birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries.

I’m not rely into bird photography, even though there are thousand of birds here, I’m not really that interested to photograph them up close, just wanted to take a few photograph of the birds with my family. Actually there are not many places here in Kuala Lumpur that I think is suitable to take our kids during a school holidays that start from 28 May until 15th June 2014.

Among the attraction here is daily Bird Show at the Amphitheater at 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm, the show runs approximately about half an hour. For the first timer maybe you will love it but for those who have been here few times, actually there is nothing new, just the same show but, I think your little children will enjoy it the most. I decided not to take a lot of photograph during the show, instead just being lazy and enjoy the show, I really hope there is a surprise for me (new tricks by the birds, maybe) but unfortunately  there is none.

You can view the map up there for the many attractions at Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. It is open daly from 9 am  until 6 pm daily but I think the best time to visit here is around 10:30 am or 11 am, why? Because if you came too early, lets say around 9 am, it will be too long for you to wait for the Bird Show at Amphitheatre (Just ignore this if you have no interest to watch it). So if you came around 10:30 am or 11 am, you can take a leisurely walk, beginning from Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 before proceed to Zone 4 for the bird show.

It will be nice if you arrived at Zone 4, The Amphitheatre around 12 pm, just half an hour before the show, just be remember that during school holidays, there will be plenty of people here. If you wanted the best seat for your family to view the show, be there,  half an hour earlier.
