Lately I was a bit busy shooting model for fun, I’m not making any money or planned to sell any of my images, just want to polish my skill and having a great time with my friends. This is portraiture session at Putrajaya Administrative Capital of Malaysia. It was full of modern looking building, and about this shot, I like the glass on the building here, great reflective material, about our model for the photo shoot, she is from Indonesia, very nice and gorgeous looking lady. Usually I like to do portraiture with long tele photo lens but during my photo session at Putrajaya I want to include the surrounding area also, wide lens is my choice of the day, I did use a long tele photo lens but I keep it minimum. Most of the building at Putrajaya is in monotone of color, so if you guys are planning to do any portraiture shoot here, I would suggest to have a model to wear something colorful in order for the model to stand out from the area, unless you want your subject to blend together with the surrounding area, that’s your choice.

Reach Out...

© 2009 Wazari Wazir | Children Portrait Photography | Reach Out

My son has grown up and it is not so easy anymore to photograph him, I’ve to use all the tricks that I can possibly imagine to get my son attention to look at my camera, sometimes it succeed while most of the times I failed, but I’m not someone who can give up easily. I like the challenge to photograph my son, after all he is my son. Who else have the patient to photograph him.

Like everybody else who have a family, my son is everything to me, I really enjoy watching him grow in front of my eyes and sometimes I watch him grow in front of my lens camera and captured it permanently for all to see. I can write a long story but I think a picture is more than just a picture in term of story telling.

I’ve been busy lately with model shooting, I’m not making any commercial or shoot for the money but just hanging out with a bunch of photographers sharing ideas and thought about photography, most of our models this times or most of the times are teenagers, Myspace or Friendster kind of things, a little bit awkward for me to shoot them because I was a little bit on the “older” side and most of my friends too. But in the end we are having fun, just don’t ask me to go out and take a street demonstration shot that will “change the world”, I was referring to the world “scenario” at the moment, those things happen even when I wasn’t even born yet and nothing gonna change that period. Back to the photo shoot above, actually I was taking that shot in some of black alley that was everywhere in the world you can find it but this one is on a safe area, in fact a lot of people come and go here, there are also people stop from their track just to have a look at what we are trying to do, in the end we are having fun…

A Man from Punjab India…

I'm from Punjab India...

© 2009 Wazari Wazir | A Man From Punjab, India

I met this man while I was busy doing an assignment around Brickfields Kuala Lumpur, actually he is working at a Restaurant not too far away from a Monorail Station. He can hardly speak any Malay but he can speak well in English. We have our breakfast at his working place, just a “Roti Canai and Teh Tarik” a very simple Malaysian morning breakfast. He said he came from Punjab India.

I forgot to ask his name, but definitely I will come here again and maybe again. He is friendly guy, easy going and not too shy to be photograph, in fact he insist to be photograph. So I took the opportunity to take a few quick shot of him because I don’t want to interfere with his work taking order from his customer.

He said he was a wedding photographer back home in India, I wish I could spent more time chatting with him but I’ve other works to do. I want to learn more about him, who knows, I might get a chance to go to India someday, at least I’ve a contact person to show me around and most importantly to share the same passion, photography.

This is a photo shoot taken just next to Masjid jamek LRT Station, the building is OCBC Bank. I like the lighting here and beautiful perspective. On the left side of My Wife and My Son is a busy road main road, so it is not a very good idea to let my son running freely here, let it be in My Wife comfort zone, the weather was not so good either, rain most of the time. Usually people take a portrait of their family at the park or garden but it is too common and I don’t really like the idea, I did a couple of shot in the garden or local park but I was more interested to take a picture of my son and wife in the crowded area or where I can find a beautiful background and lighting.
