Maulidur Rasul or the birthday of Prophet Muhammad is a public holiday here in Malaysia and some other part of the world too, so we decided to spent few hours here at Kuala Lumpur City Centre, actually almost every weekend or almost every month we will be here, it was less than half and hour from our home. The photograph above were taken at KLCC famous water fountain or better known as lake symphony.

The Symphony Lake with an approximate area of 10,000 square metres features mesmerising fountain displays. The displays consist of 5 programmes with over 380 individually sequenced effects shooting up to a maximum height of 42 metres. These effects are displayed along the arc and the two rings totalling 80 metres in length. This area is packed with people everyday especially after office hours and it get crowded during weekend where people will seat along the curves of the lake.

We’ve been here many times but few photograph were taken here, so I decided to take few photograph of may family here, all photograph above were taken with just 50 mm lens, I did bring along my favourite 24 mm lens but too lazy to switch lenses. This is not the best place to make your subject stand out from the crowd, the background is not plain enough, but I need the background to get a sense of place, even though it is not sharp but still recognisable.

This is not an artsy fartsy photograph but more of a snapshots of my family, yes it is simple, but I do believe that this kind of a photographs will be remembered especially when my kids grows up and they will know where this photograph were taken compared to super creamy bokeh with unrecognised background, yes I do know that there is a place for super duper bokeh, I’ve plenty of them myself but sometimes this kind of a photograph where you still can see some information about the background has more story to tell.
