“When it comes to composition, there are no rules . . . except, perhaps, never say never and always avoid saying always. I recommend you don’t ask, “Should I . . .?”; rather, ask “What happens when I . . . ?”. But there are principles. Each element has a unique force and contributes to the whole. Each element influences the other, creating a cascading chain of action, reaction, and interaction. These forces are definable and consistent, so you can understand them and apply them repeatedly. An understanding of what these elements are will open up possibilities and create opportunities for you.”

– John Paul Caponigro –

PHOTOGRAPH is a new product from Craft and Vision, this is not an eBook but a quarterly digital magazine and this is the inaugural issue which includes featured portfolios and interviews with Art Wolfe, Bruce Percy, and Nate Parker, as well as articles from David duChemin, Andrew Gibson, Nicole S. Young, John Paul Caponigro, Martin Bailey, Al Smith, Jay Goodrich, Piet Van den Eynde, Younes Bounhar, Kevin Clark, and Chris Orwig,  It’s 132 spreads/pages long.

I believe as a photographers we need an inspiration from times to times, we like to learn from the pros or someone who have a lot of experience behind and wanted to follow their footsteps or even though we may have no intention following their footsteps, we wanted to know their secrets recipe or how do they get the great shots, their preparation and what motivate them to do so, how do they get start, and how do we start.

Some of the photographers in this magazine will share with you their post processing technique, while others will share with you their photographic experiences and how to get that shot kind of things. One of the photographer that I really admired featured in this magazine is Art Wolfe, I’ve been following his work since I’m using Nikon FM2, more than fifteen years ago, at that time I like landscape photography, his photographs really inspired me and make me wanted to be a photographers, but over the years my interest in landscape begin to dwindle down a bit and now my interest grows towards people and places or portrait photography and that’s one of the reason why among my most favourite photographers at this time is David duChemin.

But still, whenever I want to have some inspiration regarding landscape photography, I will look up at his great artworks, this inaugural  issue of the PHOTOGRAPH magazine has a lot of great landscape photographs that will inspire most of us, whether you like landscape or not, you can also find few tips and tricks regarding portrait photography, what lens to choose and use and when to use them.

Personally for me, I like to read about the photographers experience and this PHOTOGRAPH magazine has a lot of Q&A that really will inspire most of us to get out there and bring back some great photographs and shared it with the world. Even if you don’t like reading, believe me, the photographs alone will enough to inspire us to get out there shooting some PHOTOGRAPH.

New year is just around the corner, get this PHOTOGRAPH Magazine and be inspired, you can get it from CRAFT and VISION
