“I think this is when most people give up on their stories. They come out of college wanting to change the world, wanting to get married, wanting to have kids and change the way people buy office supplies. But they get into the middle and discover it was harder than they thought. They can’t see the distant shore anymore, and they wonder if their paddling is moving them forward. None of the trees behind them are getting smaller and none of the trees ahead are getting bigger. They take it out on their spouses, and they go looking for an easier story.”

– Donald Miller –

This post have nothing to do with photography and in fact, this book is not about photography, but the funny thing is that I get to know about this book from one of my favourite photographer blog, David duChemin. I’m not good at writing a book review, it was easy to read the book than write a review for it but what I can say is that, this book somehow manage to change the way I think and how I can edit my life.

Miller got bored with his life and he think why not he try to edit his life, so it look like a movie film, where there is an adventure, ups and down in life. This book is about how you can live a better story, instead wasting times watching a great movies, why not make your life story interesting, if currently you live a boring life, then why not make it interesting, give it some adventure, live life to the fullest, this is non-fiction books and I really like it.

All I can say is that, this is really an incredible books, and to those of you who have known me, who have following my Facebook, knows that I like reading and this is a few book that have an impact upon my life, really make me thinking about editing my life, after all, I wanted to live a better story myself and this Miller life story inspired me to do so.

I bought  A Million Miles in a Thousand Years from Amazon because I couldn’t get it from Kinokuniya, my favourite bookshop here in Kuala Lumpur, so I decided to order it from Amazon because I’ve read so many great review about it and I finished the book within three days. As a photographer  I do a lot of editing with Photoshop and now it is the time, that I need to edit my life for a better story.
