It’s been awhile that I play around with texture in my photograph, at one time I’m obsessed with texture and I find it very hard to get it right and after awhile, after I know how to get it right, I no longer find it challenging and that’s the reason why nowadays I rarely playing with texture in Photoshop. Anyway this photograph of my family, my wife and my son Raphael, still can stand on it’s own, with or without the editing, the reason is that it’s the moment that matters.

Even though if I took this photograph with a compact camera, it is still a great family picture to me because the moment have it all, yes using a compact camera will not produce great looking result like this one, will not be able to throw away the background out focus smoothly like the photograph above but still, if we manage to capture great moment, great expression, nothing else really matters.

I like to end this short article with great quote from one of my favorite photographer;

“A Perfect Photo That is Empty of Any Feeling Will Never Equal a Blurred Photo Full of Emotion.”

– Olivier Föllmi –
