“Whether I caught fish or not, just the thrill of rolling out that line and watching my fly turn over has been good enough for me. That and the hundreds of treasured memories I have of this wonderful sport.”

– Curt Gowdy –

I can spent few hours here on Galata Bridge watching the anglers doing their activities. We stay around Sultanahmet area, so to get here is very easy, just take the tram from Sultanahmet station and in less than ten minutes, we will reach Eminonu station, get down there and Galata Bridge is just a walkaway.

It is good to be here somewhere in the late afternoon and if you are lucky and good weather is on your side, you will get a beautiful sunset as your background, or you can make those anglers as a silhouette against the sunset but we were not very lucky that day and according to the locals, the weather in Istanbul is quite unpredictable, but nevertheless it is great experience to spent few hours here and if you are feeling hungry or just wanted a quick meals, just get down under this bridge, there are lot’s of restaurant here to choose from.

Most of this anglers are very friendly, they don’t really mind their pictures taken, maybe because they already get used to the visitors here and if you wanted to feel the experience fishing here, just ask any of them, it is great experience to be remember.

@Aizuddin, when traveling I don’t carry a tripod, yes all of my travel picture here on my blog is taken handheld, daytime or nighttime, I just increased the ISO if the shutter is too slow for Low ISO…
