Playing with Photoshop Color Tones is more of an option, rather than a necessity. What drives me to explore this color tone is because I like what I saw in  deviantART website. I like how the photographers there express their photographic vision with colors and most of them did not use a default color that comes with their camera default setting, instead they tweaked their colors so that they come out with beautiful color tone, well, at least I think it is beautiful to my eyes, you may not seeing it the way I saw it. But nevertheless, that’s how I get an inspiration to play around with color tones.

The more I play around with it, I know that the effects that I will get, the tones that I will get largely depend on the quality of the light at the particular places, some place have different color temperature than the other, country like Malaysia have different temperature than a country in Europe or Mediterranean Sea. Even if I use the same setting like what they have use to get the color tone, I will never ever get exactly as what they can achieved and when it comes to our skin tone,  skin tone of the people living in Asia are different than Native South American skin tone, and this things will have an effect on the final outcome of the editing.

If you can see from the picture above, I use almost exact Photoshop Tone Curves to get the tone but did you notice the difference? The top photograph where my son HaiQal playing with his friend Aidid were taken at Mesilau Sabah and the Clock Tower picture were taken at Jodhpur in Rajasthan India, the temperature in Jodhpur is a little bit warmer than the temperature in Mesilau Sabah, so this things really have an effects on the color tones.

To those of you who have already bought  The Secret of Photoshop Tone eBook , I hope you really understand this situation, someone says why he or she can’t get the tone like what they see in my blog here. Just be remember, the lighting at your place might not be the same as the lighting at my place and the time of the day that you took your photograph will also have an effect on the final outcome of your picture. Lighting during sunrise is not the same as the lighting during sunset and the temperature also varies.

Some photographers like to sticks with the original color tones, while others like to play around, the choice is yours…
