While most of my friends are on holiday, I’ve to work on the very first day of Eid al-Fitr which is  is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. working during Eid celebration is nothing unusual for me and it is not just me working on the 1st day of Eid, quite a few of members of media are here covering this event at  Eid Al Fitr Open House hosted by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and cabinet ministers at the prime minister’s official residence, Seri Perdana, on the first day of Eid 30th August 2011.

This year I celebrate Eid with my family here in Kuala Lumpur, so I did volunteer myself to work on the 1st day of Eid since I’ve no plan to go anywhere, most of my colleague are on holiday, visiting their family outside Kuala Lumpur. Prime Minister Eid Open House happens every year on the 1st day of Eid al-Fitr, and usually it was held at Prime Minister Official Residence, Seri Perdana in Putrajaya but sometimes it was held somewhere else like in PWTC or PutraWorld Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur and usually it will be joined by all cabinet ministers.

Usually members of the media will stay here at Prime Minister Official Residence until late afternoon, we just don’t want to miss anything. We don’t have to worry about foods and drinks because it was plentiful here and even though we have to work, we did enjoy ourselves, this is a kind of “relax” assignment but sometimes it can get tough also especially when Prime Minister Najib Razak wanted to cut a special Eid al-Fitr cake where there are a lot of photographers wanted to join in including the public and I did not get the best angle for that occasions hence I did not share it here. I did get the shot but it is not my best shot and nothing much to shout at but nevertheless this is part of the fun, otherwise if it were too easy, it will be boring.

For my foreigner friends visiting my blog and wanted to visit Malaysia and have a plan to visit Malaysia Prime Minister Official Residence, Seri Perdana in Putrajaya, just mark your calendar, on the 1st day of eid al-Fitr, our Prime Minister will hosted an Open House and everyone is invited, not just for Malaysian residence and I saw a lot of tourist also came by during my assignment here and the best things for those of you who have no transportation to get here, free shuttle bus service were provided. Please do come and have a taste of what Malaysian Open House feels like.
