When I finished my assignment at Putrajaya covering the Welcoming Ceremony of Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, I went back to the office to finished the album for the Prime Minister and after that head straight to Kinokuniya book store at Kuala Lumpur City Centre or KLCC my favorite place, actually I went here to pay some bills and later on decided to drop by here at Kinokuniya books store.

As I walk past a “New Arrival” book shelf, my eyes were attracted to this book which I have read the review online before and now a major motion picture. Without wasting my time, i just grab the book and straight away went to the cashier counter. I have yet to read  The Bang-Bang Club Book but I will write a review later on since I’ve few other more books that have yet to be read in my possession. Whether they are any good or not doesn’t really matter for me so much because I wanted to know the story of their life.

Here is some excerpt that can be found at the back of the book :

During the final, bloody days f South African Apartheid, four remarkable young photographers-by turns friends and rivals-banded together as they covered the brutal violence. This immensely powerful and harrowing story, written by two surviving members of the group, details their political, emotional and personal journeys through these intense years as the moved toward democracy.

The Bang-Bang Club Book depict the terrible moral dilemmas faced by journalist and photographers. When does a sense of humanity overwhelm ambition and professional duties? When to put aside the camera and get involved?

This is a vivid, highly personal look at war, written by two men whose life and work are testament to the lengths that journalist will go in order to capture the truth.

This book is written by Greg Marinovich a Pulitzer-winning photographer and documentary filmmaker  and Joao Silva is a photographer with the New York Times, whose honors include two World Press Photo awards. You can get the book at Kinokuniya if they still have the stock or just simple go to The Amazon
