I just don’t know how am I supposed to write this article, I was dumbfound by my son big size picture at Pos Malaysia Jinjang Kuala Lumpur. They were so big than what I’ve imagined. I know that Pos malaysia will be using  HaiQal portrait for his new design concept store in Jinjang Post Office but I never knew that it will printed this big. Pos Malaysia Jinjang is their first concept store or new retail design store, they will design all of their Post office nationwide starting with Pos Malaysia Jinjang.

Actually Pos Malaysia has contact me through email since earlier last year in 2010, they asked me whether they can use my son picture for their new concept store as a background picture. They said their consultant from New Zealand have choosen my son picture through the internet and asked Pos Malaysia to contact the owner of the photograph, after numerous attempt, finally Mr Mohd Hasimuddin Kushairi Pos Malaysia Senior Manager-Channel Management manage to contact me and after few discussion, the rest is history. Actually I did suggest to Pos Malaysia to have a look at all of my son pictures but they said, their consultant still wanted to use this picture.

I’ve never imagine in my life that one day my son picture will be made into Pos Malaysia giant background, real WALL picture compared to Facebook wall picture. I took this picture just for my family treasure, it never cross my mind to sell it and in fact, I did not market this picture but Pos Malaysia contact me. I believe that they might have found my son picture through search engine and since all of my picture were tagged with related keywords like, portrait, son, happy, smile and all those kind of related tagging, it manage to catch someone attention. I believe also that they have search hundreds or maybe thousand of picture before decided to pick my son picture or maybe I was the only one who replied their enquiry.

My son picture has decorated the wall of Pos Malaysia Jinjang since late last year but I just don’t have the time to visit them or have a look at it until today. I took a taxi from Wisma Sime Darby driven by Wan Azmi and tell him that I wanted to go to Jinjang, I’ve never been there so I just don’t know how to get there, so I decided to take a taxi. Mr Wan Azmi was so talkative, the journey was great, he talk about his son, how hard it is to apply for a job position in a government all all other stuff, from politics to not so nice story about Jinjang and finally I was in front of Jinjang Pos office. Before this I told him that I wanted to meet my friend here, he asked me, why I’ve to go this far to pay for the bills, I said to him that I want to meet friend here, actually I’ve other agenda.

When I was inside the post office, I kept looking all around the place, looking for my son picture and suddenly I saw this giant picture of my son in the background. I just don’t know what to say, loss for words at that moment. I brave myself and approach Mr Hairul which at the moment working at the counter and straight away asking for his permission whether I can take the picture of that cute little kid behind. He asked me for what purpose? I said, that picture is my son Haiqal, he seems not to believe me at first, he might think that anybody can walk here say that. So I just told him that I can give him a phone number of Pos Malaysia officer at headquarters if he want to double check before allowing me to take a photograph here.

After awhile Mr Hairul Akmal let me in and take picture as much as I want and later on I found out that he like Photography as well and have attend few photography workshops before this. I just thought to myself, what a lucky day for me today. After I satisfied with the picture that I took, he invited me to have lunch together at the stall just outside the post office  and we spent more than an  hour talking about photography.

To cut the story short, I did not come here to meet a friend like what I told the taxi driver before but finally I did manage to make a friend here, next time when I wanted to visit this post office I can say that I wanted to meet my friend here. Mr Hairul invited me to  bring my family here, so we can take a picture together with the Big Picture behind, I think my son HaiQal, will be surprised looking at his giant picture on the wall.
