Joy of Childhood

People say “childhood is the best time of your life.”. They have nothing much to worry about, they have no bills to pay, no dateline to meet, they don’t have to work, everything was provided by their parent but then again if we look from a bigger perspective, there are children not too far from our home, not too far from our country who struggle to have something to eat for a day especially in a war torn country like in Afghanistan, Iraq and currently at some Middle East country like Yemen, Libya and Tunisia and most recently in Japan where they were badly hit with the worst Tsunami in their history since World War Two. I believe a lot of children over there become orphan overnight losing their parent while they are busy studying at the school or kindergarden.

Can you imagine how they felt when in the morning their parent sent them to the school with a happy face with full of hope so that their children will become a better student, study hard and who could have imagined on that fateful day, on 11th March 2011, when their parent bid farewell to their children will be the last one. Suddenly their life change from a happy go lucky kids from developed country to someone who have lost their parent.

This post is not really about Tsunami, it is about being happy as a child but then again like what I wrote before, it is not the same for everybody, we should be grateful if we have a happy life at the moment, we should never took it for granted, we should enjoy the present while we can and I think for someone who have a camera can help to freeze those happy moment forever for which we can never tell what will be going to happen tomorrow.

I took the picture above just outside my home on Sunday morning, usually my son woke up a little bit late, most of the time actually but on that day he woke up a little bit earlier, usually he wake up around 11:00 AM when the sun almost high above our head but this time my son woke up before 7 AM, full with energy. When I look outside of my home, I can see that the weather was quite beautiful, maybe because it was raining that night before, so the sky is clear and when I see the morning sunlight which is quite warm on that day, I took my son outside and let him play, running freely and happily and I take the picture.

The number one reason why I hurriedly take my son outside is because I wanted to play with the backlighting and as you can see from the picture above, shooting into the light really  make this picture quite interesting. The background were quite messy, this is not a proper photo shoot, I just wanted to have fun and have no time to take my son to the park. This road is quite safe place to run, the place where my son running is not a main road, where there are a lot of traffic, it is not, this is a housing area and it was quite “empty” on Sunday morning where usually people still sleeping or just being lazy at their home.

Don’t worry and be happy and live life to the fullest and don’t forget if you have a camera take a picture of your family being happy together, it will be a treasure for years to come.
