Nowadays we can get so many information and knowledges for free from the internet but for me it is good to buy a “Real” book that you can hold in your hand, it is also my way of showing my support to the person that I like especially to photographers that inspire me. David duChemin BLOG is among my favorite photographers blog. Almost everyday I will pay a visit to his blog even though there is nothing new there but just looking at his blog really inspire me.

Maybe some of you will say, why waste a money buying a books when we can get all the information for free? Like I said as a way to support our friends who inspire me. Personally I think the price that we pay for a books is very little compared to what the photographers has to offer, their experience is priceless, by reading their experience maybe we can save ourselves a lot of trouble by not doing the same mistake that they have done in their career.

Honestly speaking I rarely buy photography books that talk about “How To” or some kind of technical things, what I look in a books is something that can inspire me, something that will show me the right way of doing things in life, through their experience. About the technical things you can always read the Manual, and speaking about photography, very few peoples read their camera manual books.

VisionMongers: Making a Life and a Living in Photography is the first book that I’ve ordered through Amazon because at the time I made my order, I’ve not found this book at my local bookstores here in Kuala Lumpur, I just simply can’t wait, I’ve David duChemin first book Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision which I bought here in Kuala Lumpur and really inspired by the book…

    Wazari –

I find almost all of David’s books to be insightful and inspiring. His writing style is certainly unique and very introspective, as well as philosophical – it should be, he is a “humanitarian photographer”. Of the books he has written prolifically in the last two years, without a doubt the two best imo are:
    Vision Mongers
    Within the Frame

I also agree his blog is a “hot-bed” of widely debated topics central to travel, philosophy and humanitarian approach to photography. I don’t think there is another blog in this genre that approaches these topics so uniquely and honestly – that’s why his discussions are so interesting at times.
