Taj Mahal From a Distance

Finally after more than seven month of planning, from the moment I bought the ticket at MAS Malaysia Airline System office in K.L Sentral Kuala Lumpur, I’m here in India. I know I should have told you guys before I leave but I was too busy, there is so much things to do and I rarely spent myself online in India. Why bother wasting our time in front of a computer when we can enjoy walking all around India.

There are five of us for this trip, we bought the ticket in November 2009 last year when the ticket price was not so expensive, yes we fly with MAS Malaysian Airlines System because at that time Air Asia doesn’t have direct flight to New Delhi. Our flight take off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA on June 10 at 6:20 PM ( Malaysia  Time ) and reach New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9:25 PM local time in New Delhi.

Few weeks before our departure, I’ve  booked our hotel through email with Vivek Hotel which is located at Pahar Ganj area in New Delhi, and as promised, the moment after we left custom officer, and on our way out of the airport I see rows of people holding a small placard and I smile to myself when finally I see my name and my hotel name on one of the placard and I raised my hand to the person holding it.

So our journey begin, I’ve a long story to share with you guys but before that, I just would like to let you know that, in term of photography I choose to travel light. I just carry one Nikon D200 body with Nikon 50mm lens and  UWA Ultra Wide Angle Lens Sigma 10-20mm lens. That’s it, just two lenses and one camera body for this trip to India.

About the backpack, I carry Deuter Futura Vario 40+10 and I think it was light enough for me to carry, we are not going to carry that backpack every time, we will leave the bag at the hotel and just carry a small bag with us when visiting few place nearby. Some interesting place in New Delhi for an example.

Taj Mahal picture above was taken across the famous Yamuna River, from Taj Ganj where we stay, it will took 45 minutes to get here by Auto Rick Shaw and sometimes a bit longer depending on the traffic condition. To get inside this area, we have to pay Indian Rupee Rs 100 per person.

Great and different view. Isn’t travel photography all about expanding your universe? Now Taj Mahal has one more dimension, thanks to your image.
